Makawanpur: – The number of eye patients is increasing day by day due to fire broke out in jungle and air pollution around Hetauda. This problem has been seen for about two weeks.

According to the hospital administration, the number of people seeking eye treatment at the Community Eye Hospital in Hetauda has increased due to the increased of air pollution. Senior Administrator of the hospital Sudhir Shrestha said that the number of eye patients has increased due to air pollution.

At present, more than 350 eye patients visit the hospital daily for treatment due to various reasons including problems related to air pollution. Most of the patients who come to the hospital for eye treatment have problems like burning eyes, red eyes and allergies in the eyes.

Administrator Shrestha said that the number of patients coming to the hospital for regular eye check-ups, follow-up and eye surgeries has also increased significantly.

The hospital has eye surgery five days a week. The hospital, which has been treating 200 eye patients daily due to the global corona epidemic, has started to distribute the token from 7 am to 11 am as patients have increased.

Shrestha informed that more than 150 people made spectacles after a simple eye examination. It is said that 50 percent of the service recipients coming to the eye hospital are members of health insurance. One thousand rupees is available for making spectacles from insurance once in a financial year. It is said that the number of people seeking treatment in private eye clinics and also in spectacle shops has increased.

Similarly, the number of patients treating for cold, nose, ear and throat and allergies has also increased at Hetauda Hospital due to air pollution and smog.
