Kathmandu: – A rapist has been sentenced for 7-years in prison for raping a 19-years-old girl by the District Court of Baglung.

A bench of District Judge Basudev Neupane on Wednesday sentenced 21-year-old Resham Ban of Tarakhola Gaupalika-2 of Baglung to seven years in prison for raping.

The district court, Baglung has stated that the Ban should pay Rs 80,000 compensation to the victim along with the imprisonment.

Ban was arrested by the police on Asadh-17, 2077 on the charge of raping a girl about which after completing the investigation, the police had registered a case through the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in the District Court, Baglung on Shrawan-11.

He has been remanded in custody at the District Jail, Baglung till now on the order of the District Court, Baglung.
