‘Hemraj Memorial Award’ to Jharna this year

Makawanpur: – Jharna Literary Family, an active literary organization in Makwanpur, is set to receive the Hemraj Memorial Award-2077 BS.

The Hemraj Pahari Memorial award formed to highlight the contribution of writer and social activist Hemraj Pahari and to support the development of Nepali literature, has decided to give this year’s award to Jharna Literary Family, Makawanpur.

The award will be given to Jharna Literary Family as per the recommendation of the Talent Selection Committee comprising scholar Haridevi Koirala, coordinator and writers Laxmi Niraula and Rama Parasar. One Lakh and a bronze medal will be provided as prizes. Established in 2050 BS, Jharna has been conducting various literary activities on the fourth Saturday of every month including a regular series.

Rita Neupane, chairperson of the foundation, informed that a memorial meeting and award presentation ceremony will be organized in Hetauda on Phalgun-17 on the occasion of 11th Memorial Day of the writer Hemraj.

The biennial award has already been given to senior cultural activist Satya Mohan Joshi, Rapti Sahitya Parishad of Dang, Vimal Gurung Memorial Library of Dharan and folk poet Ali Mian.
