Bagmati State government is to provide Rs 50,000 assistance to cancer patients
Makawanpur: – The Bagmati state government will provide Rs 50,000 for the treatment of cancer patients which will be implemented from Phalgun-1.
According to Dr Dej Kumar Gautam, Executive Director of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, an agreement has been signed with the Ministry of Social Development of Bagmati Pradesh to provide discount facility from Phalgun-1.
Earlier, the federal government had been providing Rs one Lakh for the treatment as assistance to cancer patients.
According to Dr. Gautam, the state government will provide an additional Rs 50,000 for the treatment for which central government has been providing One lakh for to the patients.
After the federal government runs out of funds, the state government funds will spent for the treatment. He informed that this facility will be available only to the permanent residents of the state.
The state has allocated Rs. 70 million for this facility in the current fiscal year.
