Makawanpur: – Chairman of the Prachanda-Madhav faction of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has threatened the Election Commission but urged it not to be under any pressure or influence.
He objected that Oli had threatened the constitutional body saying that he was the first chairperson of the commission and that he should not get involved in the dispute over official status. Addressing a public meeting in Kathmandu on Wednesday against the dissolution of the House of Representatives, Chairman Nepal said that it is not necessary to believe Oli who had declared himself the first chairperson.
Asking them to look at the party’s constitution, documents, circulars and decisions, he said earlier, “If there is any doubt about that, the heads of one person can be counted by calling 441 every individuals.”
Stating that Article 44 of the Political Parties Act clearly states that a majority decision is acceptable if there is a dispute over the name and symbol of the same party, Chairman of the Prachanda-Madhav Group Nepal urged the Commission to keep it in check.
