100 MW electricity is to import from India

Makawanpur: – Nepal is going to bring additional 100 MW of electricity from India. At the meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Technical Group on Energy, India agreed to provide additional 100 MW of electricity through the Dhalbekbar-Muzaffarpur 400 KV transmission line.

Nepal Electricity Authority is importing up to 250 MW of electricity from this line.

According to an NEA official, the way is now open to import up to 350 MW of electricity from the 400 kV inter-country transmission line.

Previously, 680 to 700 MW of electricity is being imported from India through various international transmission lines during peak hours. Now that amount will reach 800 MW.
