Makawanpur: – Due to the negligence of Nepal Telecom, the SIM users of Raksirang have been effected. Due to the lack of electricity in the telecom towers, the mobile service has been disrupted at the time of ‘No Sunlight’.
The service has been disrupted for about 18 hours daily due to non-availability of electricity generated from Solar Panels installed in the telecom towers.
Even though the villagers have been facing this problem for years in the winter season, the telecom has been neglecting to solve the problem. Chairman of Raksirang Village Municipality Raj Kumar Malla said that the disruption of mobile service has affected the villagers as well as the functioning of the municipality.
Nepal Telecom has towers at Bhanti in Raksirang Village Municipality-2 and Todke in Raksirang-8. At the time of installation of the tower, solar was used as there was no electricity in the area. But now electricity has reached both the places. However, the telecom has not paid attention to improve the network connection by connecting tower with electricity.
Chairman Malla said that the Hetauda office of the telecom had repeatedly requested by the village municipality office and the villagers to solve the problem of mobile service being disrupted for a long time due to the problem of electricity. ‘On a Sunny day, the mobile connects with the tower for a very few hour but in absence of sunny day the service gets disrupted for the whole day. The villagers are facing problems when there is no proper service of mobile network.
Chairman Malla said, “The neglect of telecom is affecting the peace, security, health and other areas of the village.” Repeated requests to resolve the issue did not work. We still can’t stand being ignored. The day is no more away when the villagers will boycott the telecom SIM due to their negligence. ‘
Hansraj Vijayananda, chief of Nepal Telecom Hetauda, said that preparations were being made to set up a new telecom tower in Raksirang and claimed that the problem would be resolved soon. “We are looking for land to build a new tower. After receiving the land, we will set up a new tower. Talks have been held with the ward office about this. After the installation of the new tower, mobile service will be available at any time,”said Vijayananda.
