Construction of Matatirtha-Kulekhani Road section

Makawanpur. The shortest Kulekhani-Matatirtha road section connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu is being upgraded. The Kulekhani-Deurali-Matatirtha-Satungal road section of the road connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu is being widened on both sides of Makwanpur and Kathmandu and necessary structures are being constructed.

The road connecting Hetauda to Kathmandu by a short distance is 61 kilometers long. Among them, the 15 km road section from Mahalakshmi Dobhan in Indrasarovar Gaupalika-5 of Makawanpur to Satungal in Kathmandu district is being upgraded by the Transport Infrastructure Directorate of Bagmati State.

Spokesperson of the Directorate of Transport Infrastructure Hari Prasad Ojha informed that work is being done, walls and managing drainage in both the districts of the project is carried out.

According to him, the Infrastructure Development Office, Lalitpur will look after the construction of Chandragiri Municipality-8 of Kathmandu, from Satungal to Indrasarovar Village Municipality-5, Makaibari of Makwanpur and the Infrastructure Development Office, Chitwan will look after the construction of Mahalakshmi Dobhan-Chakhel-Macabari section in Indrasarovar Village Municipality-5. The agreement was reached to complete the construction of Mahalakshmi-Do Bhan-Chakhel-Makaibari section by Jesth- of 2079 BS.

As per the agreement, the work has gained momentum after the foundation stone was laid on Poush-3. The Mahalakshmi Dobhan-Chakhel-Makaibari section at a cost of Rs. 7 Crore and 3 Lakhs and 66 thousand will be widened and covered with gravel, retaining wall, culvert and concrete drainage. The work of this road section is being done by Kavindra ATC JV.
