In the first phase, electric buses in 3 districts of state
Makawanpur: – Physical Infrastructure Development of the Bagmati State informed that government has started its work with the preparation of operating electric buses in 3 different districts of the state in the first phase.
The Ministry has made preparation to operate buses in Makawanpur, Dolakha and Rasuwa within the running FY 077/078.
A technical team has been deployed to survey for the operation of electric buses and budget will be allocated soon as per the suggestions of the technicians, said Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Rameshwar Phuyal.
Similarly, he also informed that seven routes have been prepared for the operation of electric buses in the federal capital Kathmandu valley, Chitwan, Dhading, Sindhupalchowk, Nuwakot, Sindhuli, Hetauda and other cities.
It is mentioned that state government has set a target to operate about 38 electric buses in different cities of the state and now it has provided assistance to the private sector transport businessmen with necessary consultations.
According to the Phuyal the government was doing its homework to operate the system of checking vehicle pollution and collecting vehicle revenue from within its area within a few months under the electronic systems.
