Hetauda Sub-metropolis: 6.7 Million for development and production of agriculture and livestock

Makawanpur: Hetauda Sub-metropolis has allocated more than 67 Lakhs in the current fiscal year for the protection, development and increase of productivity in the livestock and agricultural sector.

It is also stated that budget has been allocated for the use of barren arable land in the sub-metropolitan area for a long time. A budget of Rs 10 Lakhs has been allocated in the current Fiscal Year under the Barren Consumption Program. In the former 11 Wada of Hetauda and later added Wadas, the problem of barren fields has increased due to the foreign employment. The program has been brought by giving priority to the farmers who cultivate barren land and produce vegetables and grains.

Hari Bahadur Mahat, Chief of the sub-metropolis, said that the program was brought to free the people from going abroad and migrating for employment. Similarly, Rs 10 Lakhs has been allocated for agricultural ‘Crop Compensation’ grant in the Fiscal Year.

The compensation program was been introduced in case of non-production or loss of crops by the farmers. As per the details received from the sub-metropolis, it has been mentioned that budget has been allocated from the promotion of cow, goat, pigeon and livestock.

A budget of 21 Lakhs and 33 thousands has been allocated under the ‘Cow Promotion Program’ in different areas of the city. Chief Mahat informed that Rs 1 million has been allocated for cost sharing in the current fiscal year for the ‘ Pig Promotion Program’.

He informed that the program has been started by allocating Rs 15 Lakhs under the ‘ Pocket Development Program’ for production of small and commercial goats. In addition, a statistics update program on ‘Agriculture and Livestock’ is being carried out this year and Rs. one lakh has been allocated for it.
