Bagmati provincial assembly meeting postponed indefinitely

Makawanpur: – The Bagmati Provincial Assembly meeting has been postponed indefinitely. According to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, the meeting of the Provincial Assembly has been postponed indefinitely due to the obstruction of the main opposition party CPN-Maoist.

In a meeting of the state assembly on Thursday, the main opposition party demanded a fair answer on the issues of national concern, the state government has started the process of purchasing electric buses without working procedures, criteria and infrastructure and the state government has provided Rs 5 million to Madan Bhandari Foundation. CPN-Maoist central parliamentarians had blocked the parliament.

According to Krishna Hari Khadka, Chief Secretary of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, Sanukumar Shrestha, the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly, has adjourned the meeting until further notice.

On behalf of Chief Minister Dormani Paudel, Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Rameshwor Phuyal said that the state government has put forward development plans after conducting research.

He said that the state government has been constructing the necessary infrastructures for the operation of electric buses and the process of purchasing electric buses has been expedited as it will be completed in the near future.

Paudel added that the state government has moved ahead in this direction considering the consumption of electricity produced in Nepal, balancing the environment and health facilities of the citizens.

He clarified that the financial assistance was provided to the Madan Bhandari Foundation within the Act. He said that the financial assistance was provided to the foundation within the criteria prescribed by the law as per the decision of the cabinet meeting of the state.
