The title of the fifth Rajarshi Cup went to Piple Youth Club Hetauda
Makawanpur: – Piple Youth Club Hetauda has clinched the title of the fifth Rajarshi Cup Football Tournament in Sarlahi. In the final match played on Monday, People’s Club Hetauda clinched the title by defeating host Bagmati Municipality.
The decision was taken through sudden death after the scheduled time and tiebreaker were tied. Piple defeated the organizers 5-4 in Sudden Death to clinch the title.
The winner Piple received a trophy and Rs 10 Lakhs 1 thousand in cash. Similarly, the runner-up organizing team was paid Rs. 500,500.
Piple took the lead in the 5th minute through a goal by Samiraj Thokar. In the 11th minute, Stephen Sameer of Sarlahi scored the equalizer. Stephen scored another goal in the 16th minute to give Bagmati the lead. Piple captain Sahid scored in the 27th minute to level the game.
Hrithik Khadka of Sarlahi scored a goal in the 89th minute to bring the organizers closer to the title. In the third minute of the 5th minute of injury time, Piple equalized the game with a gift goal when the goalkeeper stepped forward with the ball that the defense tried to clear.
In the final, Piple became the Glory Man of the Match. He has received a trophy with Rs 10,000 in cash.
The best goalkeeper of the tournament was Arun Blon of Bagmati, defender Piple’s Shahid midfielder Rajendra Rawal of Piple, top scorer Stephen Sameer of Bagmati and best coach Subin Ghimire of Piple. They received a trophy with Rs 20,000 in cash.
Vijay Ghalan of Bagmati bagged Rs 51,000 as the best player of the tournament while Sarlahi goalkeeper Arun Blon bagged a Pulsar motorcycle.
