Kathmandu: – As the risk of corona infection has increased, the government has tightened traffic from 9 pm onwards. The Ministry of Health and Population has urged the district administration offices across the country to make the use of masks mandatory outside the home and in public places. The ministry has asked to adopt high vigilance after finding that some schools do not follow the public health standards.
A statement issued by the ministry on Wednesday, which is currently being monitored by the National Public Health Laboratory, called for “high vigilance in all educational institutions” as school-going infections are on the rise in major cities, including Kathmandu and Pokhara.
Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari said that public transport or congestion should be reduced and public health standards should be strictly adhered to in the high risk cities.
The ministry has urged the concerned authorities to tighten the traffic in case more than 500 people are infected in big cities and more than 100 in small ones.
In order to tackle the corona, it has been requested to take high health security precautions in shopping malls, cinema halls, dance halls, health clubs, swimming pools, party palaces, temples and other crowded places.
According to the Ministry of Health, those who are in quarantine at home after returning from abroad and living in isolation at home after being infected will have to strictly follow the public health standards. The ministry has also called for increased random antigen testing in high-risk areas.
Similarly, corona infection was confirmed in 339 people across the country on Wednesday. Out of which the 298 PCR tests and 41 antigen tests held, 339 tested positive for corona. At the same time, the total number of infected people has reached 278,809 across the country.
According to the Ministry of Health, 74 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours. The number of cures across the country has reached 273,529. Currently, 65 people are in quarantine. There is news in today’s Rajdhani Daily.
