Makawanpur: – The seventh session meeting of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly is scheduled to be held on Chaitra-24 this year, which had been postponed for several months, according to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat.
The seventh sitting of the state assembly, which was held from Magh-7, was adjourned after a general discussion on the no-confidence motion filed against state chief minister Dormani Paudel on Magh-9. After that, the seventh session of the state assembly, which was postponed several times, decided to hold the meeting after it has been decided to withdraw the no-confidence motion filed against CM Paudel.
The no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Paudel was withdrawn on Chaitra-18 under the leadership of former Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, Arun Nepal.
Sanu Kumar Shrestha, Speaker of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly, informed that more information about the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Paudel has been withdrawn by the concerned parties will be presented in the meeting to be held on Chaitra-24 and the bill related to Public Roads and Concerns Bill 2077 and Provincial Tourism Bill 2077 will be discussed.
According to him, the meeting will be held for a week.
There are currently 110 members in the state assembly, including 57 from the ruling CPN-UML, 23 from the main opposition party CPN-Maoist Center, 22 from the Nepali Congress, 3 from the Sajha Bibekshil Party, 2 from the Nepal Mazdur Kisan Party, 2 from the RPP and one independent. Earlier, the then ruling CPN (Maoist) had 80 members in the state assembly.
