Makawanpur: –  The 11th Presidential Running Shield Competition of Makwanpur is scheduled to be held from Chaitra-27.

A meeting of the competition Directing committee chaired by District Coordination Committee chief Raghunath Khulal set the date on Friday.

Rajan Dahal (Khushraj), head of the Sports Development Committee, said that the preparations for the competition, which could not be held last year due to covid, started this year after receiving instructions from the state sports council.

The meeting has requested the local levels to complete the local level selection by Chaitra-20 4 and send the results to the Sports Development Committee.

The competition will include athletics, volleyball kabaddi, sitorio karate, taekwondo and usu. Janak Secondary of Bakaiya has won the shield by winning the ninth and tenth competitions.

There is competition for 48 gold medals in the competition.

Dahal also said that the first and second teams in athletics from the local level and the first team in other teams and group games will play in the district.

Sanukumar Lama, chairman of the committee, said that it would cost around Rs 10 Lakhs to complete the tournament and make the winners participate in the state, but the government would release only Rs 4 lakh.
