Makawanpur: – The local level Martyrs’ Memorial Gold Cup competition has started in Hetauda from today which has been inaugurated at the Forest Science Study Institute (Forestry) playground at Hetauda-10 under the patronage of Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus), Chairman of Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Dhurmus said that the sports sector has succeeded in uniting Nepalese. Stating that sports sector and players have an important role in introducing Nepal in the world so he suggested everyone to take the leading role in the development of sports sector.
He also informed that he has started a campaign for the construction of Gautam Buddha International Stadium in Chitwan with the help of the people, recalling that Hetauda Sub-metropolis has provided Rs 30 lakhs as the first donation, he said that determination is the most powerful.

Chief of District Coordination Committee Makawanpur Raghunath Khulal, Mayor of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan Hari Bahadur Mahat, Chairman of Bakaiya Village Municipality Damodar Khanal and Chairman of Bhimphedi Village Municipality Hidam Lama said that the government is also responsible for the development and expansion of sports sector. They said that he would always be in the forefront in the development of the sports sector realizing the responsibility of the local government in promoting excellent sports and player production.

For the Cup, the Hetuda Sub-metropolis has provided Rs 15 Lakhs and Thaha Municipality Rs 10 Lakhs whereas Bagmati, Bakaiya, Makawanpurgadhi, Manahari, Raksirang, Kailash, Bhimphedi and Indrasarovar will provide Rs 5 lakh each, according to the organizers.
