Second session of ‘Bakaiya Literature Festival’ completed
Makawanpur: – The Second session of ‘Bakaiya Literature Festival’ organized by Jharna Literary Family has been completed on Saturday. The festival, which started on Friday, ended on Saturday with the recitation of the Composition and respect of Shrestha.
Eight different writer have been honored in the festival. sunsari’s senior writer P.D Bhim Upadhayay has been honored with ‘Homnath Tikamaya Pratibha Samman’.
Similarly, RR Chaulagain, a veteran poet of Makawanpur, has been honored with the Babulal-Bhojmaya Talented Award of Rs 11,111 established by Binod Subedi.
The Shiva-Savitri Adhikari Smriti Muktak Samman of Rs. 11,111 established by Ramesh Mohan Adhikari will be given to Gyanuwakar Poudel on Chaitra-28 as per the decision, while award of the amount of Rs. 5,555 established by Arpan Parajuli and Darpan Parajuli The Khadananda-Manmaya Memorial Talent Award has been given to Sumitra Sumi, a young writer from Nuwakot.
Similarly, Ruku Karki, a writer from Makwanpur, has been honored with the Sushila Dangal Memorial Creative Women Award of Rs 5,555 established by Ward Chairman Rajan Dangal of Bakaya-4. Lamichhane of Bakaiya-4 has been awarded the Sanjivani Buti Sahitya Seva Samman of Rs 5,555 established by Tulsi Giri, while journalist Khem Bolakhe has been awarded the Jharna-Bakaiya Journalism Award of Rs 5,555 established by Bakaiya Village Municipality.
Also, Deepshikha Ghimire of Bakaiya-4 has been awarded the ‘Jharna-Bakaya Nav Pratibha Award’ of Rs 2,505 established by Chandra Kumar Rai. Flute player Gopal Ghatani has been honored as a local talent.
Poetry and Ghazal Muktak were presented in Saturday’s series. Poets Birkhe Anjaan, Subash Khanal, Chhabi Anitya, Purushottam Acharya, Yash Lama, Sandeep Sangraula, Muna Aryal, Rajkumar Lamichhane, Min Prasad Lamichhane, Savita Timalsina, Santram Rai, Balram Ghimire and Rupa Thapa have recited poems in the program. Similarly, Hari Poudyal, Dharmaraj Syangtan, Vishal Adhikari, Sundar Karki, Divi Bartaula, Bhavani Timalsina, Hira Shakya and Bageki Ganga recited ghazals.
Chairman of Jharna Literary Family Deepak Gautam presided over the function and Damodar Khanal where Chairperson of Bakaiya Village Municipality was presented as the Chief Guest while Vice President of Bakaya Village Municipality Sarala Bolakhe and Chief Administrative Officer Laxman Pudasaini were the special guests at the program.
The event was attended by local writers and literary lovers as well as guest creators from other districts including Hetauda and Palung.
