Bicycle rally from Gadhi to Gadhi

Makawanpur: – The Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, Bagmati Pradesh is going to conduct a bicycle rally from Gadhi to Gadhi with a plan for the development and expansion of the tourism sector. The ministry, in coordination with the Mountain Sports Federation Bagmati Pradesh, Makawanpur District Cycle Association and Riders Club Makawanpur, is planning to hold a bicycle rally from the historic Makawanpurgadhi of Makawanpur to Sindhuligadhi of Sindhuli.

The bicycle rally started from Makawanpurgadhi on Phalgun-22 and will reach Sindhuligadhi via Hariharpurgadhi of Sindhuli on Phalgun-24.

According to the Ministry, preparations for the program have been intensified under the coordination of Safal Adhikari, Secretary of Mountain Sports Federation, Bagmati.

Ministry’s Information Officer Nawaraj Pudasaini said that a different style bicycle rally program has been prepared with the objective of introducing four of the nine historical forts of the state and promoting tourism. According to him, the ministry has made several plans for the promotion of tourism in Chisapani Gadhi of Makawanpur, Makawanpurgadhi, Harihpur Gadhi of Sindhuli and Sindhuligadhi.

He said that work has been carried to develop Sindhuligadhi, a model tourist destination, as a hill station and also to rebuild Sindhuligadhi Palace at a cost of Rs 4 Crores.

A total of 175 cyclists, including world cyclist Puskar Shah, will reach Hariharpur Gadhi of Sindhuli on Phalgun-22 through Bakaiya, Bagmati Gaupalika after a journey of about 80 kilometres.

The program coordinator Adhikari informed that arrangements have been made for the cyclists for lodging and fooding under the management of Hariharpur village Municipality.

After the flag hoisting program ends in Hariharpurgadhi on Phalgun-23, the cyclists will start journey for Sindhuligadhi and after a journey of about 40 kilometres, they will stay in Sindhulimadi on that day. According to the official, the rally will end at Sindhuligadhi on the morning of the 24th.

The organizers have stated that around Rs 11 Lakhs will be spent for the program. Out of the total cost, the ministry will provide assistance of Rs 500,000 while other expenses will be collected from the local level and external sources, said the program coordinator.
