Makawanpur: – Chairman of Raksirang Gaupalika Ward No. 1 of Makawanpur Kancharam Rumba has been released on bail.

Police had arrested the ward chairman on the charge of indecent behavior after entering the village to facilitate a dispute between the locals and the police.

Rumba, has been released on bail of Rs 3,000 on the order of the District Officer. After the release, locals including village chairman Raj Kumar Malla went to the district police office to welcome Rumba.

Reacting after his release, Rumba said that he was arrested by the police on false charges while speaking in favor of justice. He said that he was ready to face any situation related to the problems of the locals. He said that he has been released due to pressure from the general public and others.

Ward Chairperson Kancharam was arrested by police when he had gone to the place of dispute created by police in the name of ‘Cannabis Operation’.

The locals had retaliated after the team including police and non-police arrived at the spot at around 9 pm carrying beer, duo cartoons and other items. There was a scuffle between the police and the locals.
