The 30th annual general meeting ‘Chisapani Community Forest’

Makawanpur: – The 30th annual general meeting of the Neureni Chisapani Community Forest Users Group in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan Ward No. 7 has started on Saturday. The program was chaired by Group Chairman Gyan Bahadur Chaulagain and hosted by Community Forest Users Federation Makawanpur President Sadhuram Chaulagain.

The chief guest of the program, Phe.ko.phan District Chairman Chaulagain, said that the group should work to uplift the economic living standard of the consumers through community forest.

He said that the state government has decided not to take any initiative to set up a forest-based enterprise due to the continuity of Phe.ko.phan for the amendment of forest law. He stressed on the need to move towards community forest group not only for forest conservation but also for entrepreneurship.

Presenting the annual report of the group, Chaulagain, chairperson of the group, said that the group held a general meeting today and tomorrow considering the risk of corona infection. A similar group said that it has already provided training to the consumers by purchasing machines for making Dunat Pari.

Similarly, Secretary of the Group Shanti Timalsina presented the progress report including the activities of the group and Treasurer Bharat Adhikari presented the financial report of the group and the estimated income report of Rs 1.2 million for the coming year.

Adviser of the group Raghu Acharya, Chairman of Rani Community Forest Group Krishna Bidari and Forest Technician Nischal Ghimire Lagaet of Division Forest Office Hetauda expressed their views at the program.

The general assembly that started at the group’s building will end on Sunday with the selection of a new working committee, said Ram Chandra Adhikari, vice-chairman of the group.

There are a total of 233 households in the forest group spread over an area of ​​71.12 hectares.
