Nurses in 3 community schools at each local level in Bagmati

Makawanpur. The Bagmati state government has deployed three nurses at each local level under the school nurse program started from community secondary schools in 13 districts of the state as a model program.

The program has been expanded to 119 local levels of the state. The school nurse program is becoming effective in the community schools of Bagmati Pradesh.

The nurses have banned eating junk food in the school while informing about hygiene and health awareness has changed the lifestyle of the school.

Out of the 119 local levels in the state, there are 11 local government in Kathmandu, 10 in Makawanpur, 13 in Kavrepalanchok, 7 in Chitwan, 9 in Dolakha, 13 in Dhading, 12 in Nuwakot, 4 in Bhaktapur, 5 in Rasuwa, 8 in Ramechhap, 8 in Lalitpur, 2 in Sindhupalchowk and 9 in Sindhuli, informed the ministry has stated.

According to the ministry, there are 238 local nurses including 33 in Kathmandu, 30 in Makawanpur, 39 in Kavrepalanchok, 21 in Chitwan, 27 in Dolakha, 39 in Dhading, 36 in Nuwakot, 12 in Bhaktapur, 15 in Rasuwa, 24 in Ramechhap, 18 in Lalitpur, 36 in Sindhupalchowk and 27 in Sindhuli deployed over the state.

In the fiscal year 2075/76, 20 nurses were assigned to provide services across the state, while in the fiscal year 2076/77, 101 nurses were assigned to provide services. Purushottam Raj Sedhai informed.

There are currently 1,350 community secondary schools in the state.
