Makawanpur: – Police have arrested Prachanda-Nepal CPN leader Ashtalakshmi Shakya. Police have started arresting cadres and leaders of the Prachanda-Madhav faction and during the arresting operation Shakya, a leader of the Prachanda-Nepal faction, has been arrested from Kalanki.

Police and armed groups, including half a dozen leaders and activists of the general strike group, have taken under control today.

Leaders and activists, including Shakya, were arrested when they took to the streets to make the strike a success.

Police have been taking under control the protesting cadres from different places in Kathmandu Valley since this morning.
