Kathmandu:- The Government is preparing to implement e-passport from next Kartik. The Passport Department, which has repeatedly called for bids for e-passport, has decided to provide a contract worth US Dollar. 2 crore 11 Lakhs (More than 2.5 Arba) to Idemia Identity and Security France in the first week of Kartik.

Earlier, the bid for printing of e-passport was canceled three times.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is preparing to distribute e-passports to the public by connecting the necessary infrastructure for passports from the new building in Tripureshwor. This news is in today’s Rajdhani daily.
