Kathmandu. Mathematics has been included in the compulsory group in the curriculum of class 11 and 12.
A meeting of the National Curriculum Development and Evaluation Council chaired by Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha on Thursday decided to include mathematics in the compulsory group.
Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Gopinath Mainali, said that as per the decision of the council, students will be able to choose between mathematics and social studies and life skills.
Earlier, mathematics was an elective subject.
