Emphasis on Construction of Wildlife friendly infrastructure

Makawanpur: – Emphasis has been made on building wildlife friendly infrastructure to reduce road accidents with wild animals as the number of deaths due to road accidents has increased.

A meeting of the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Makawanpur, has decided to request the stakeholders in the construction of infrastructure to formulate a plan to increase public awareness in order to reduce road accidents with wild animals.The meeting chaired by Chief District Officer of Makawanpur, Govinda Prasad Rijal, decided to draw the attention of the concerned bodies in the construction of infrastructure while formulating a plan for the protection of wildlife, reduction of wildlife crime and reduction of conflict between human and wildlife.A similar meeting has decided to request the formation of a district level wildlife crime control bureau.

As it is felt that there is a need for a district level mechanism for district level wildlife crime control and management, it has been decided to request the Central Wildlife Crime Control Bureau to form a district level wildlife crime control bureau, said Basanta Raj Gautam, Assistant Forest Officer, Division Forest Office, Makawanpur.As the number of wildlife accidents has been increasing in Makawanpur in recent years, Hetauda Sub-metropolis, University of Agriculture and Forest Sciences, Faculty of Forests, Hetauda and Institute of Forest Studies, Hetauda have been requested to conduct effective control programs to solve the problem of litter dogs in the dumping site and surrounding areas.
