Warm clothes to the Bankariya tribes
Makawanpur. Warm clothes have been distributed to the children and single women of the endangered-Bankariya who have been facing problems in winter due to lack of clothes. The network for the development of Adivasi Janajati, Kathmandu, has distributed ready-made garments from the money collected from its members.
Chairperson of the Network for Indigenous Development Sabitra Chepang, Vice-Chairperson Sudip Thakuri, Treasurer Nirmala Bhujel, Member Sumin Gurung and others distributed clothes to the children.
The clothes were distributed to 33 students, including 11 girls between the ages of 1 and 20, one physically challenged, one physically challenged and three Single women.
The distribution of clothes is expected to make it easier for the children to go to school and study tuition. The organization established in 2065 BS has been conducting various programs in the tribal areas.
Earlier, tube well costing 30 Thousand to the 20 houses of Bankariya tribe have been set up so that it will be easy for drinking water to wash dishes for the Bankariya people.
Tube well were set up with the financial support of the International Working Group on Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA) through the National Federation of Indigenous Women.
