Drinking water problem, Bagmati state allocated 50 Lakhs

Makawanpur: – Minister for ‘Physical Infrastructure Development’ Rameshwar Phuyal has expressed commitment to solve the Drinking water problems in the Hetauda Sub-metropolis ward No. 19, Dumare after on-site study in a sitting with ward staffs and people representatives.

During the sitting, ward member Indira Tamang informed that the women are compelled to stand in queue in front of wells and streams to get the water that’s why they even cannot get chance to participate in the campaign as well as women empowerment. “Due to the drinking water problem, women here don’t participate in the Health and Public awareness programs”, She said.

Other member, Shanti Bishwakarma added that the shortage of drinking water is a problem not only in school but also in every household. She lamented that at least a family member had to work from morning to evening to fetch water.

Whereas, ward chairman of the ward, Nawaraj Subedi said that it would take some time to provide drinking water easily due to the geographical point of view. According to him, 600 households with a population of more than 2,000 in the ward are facing problem of Drinking Water.

His statement spells about the ‘Lekpani Dumare’ and ‘Bhairabdanda Drinking Water projects’ have been constructed to solve the drinking water problems and for the projects preparation has been done to bring water from Nakauli. For which 50 Lakhs budgets have been allocated by the State Government of the Bagmati State.

Chairman Subedi said that water would be pumped into the tanks and taken to Schools and Village by Jestha of Next year.

Secretary of the Ministry Sanjeev Baral, ward Secretary, members and other media persons were presented at the sitting.
