Makawanpur: – A milk processing plant and catering industry will be set up in Rapti Municipality-7 Gadhuwa in partnership with the Bagmati State Government and local level of Chitwan.

For the plant, Dr. Shatrughan Prasad Shah (Informational Officer of the State Dairy Development Board) informed that the State Dairy Development Board is preparing to start the construction as soon as possible by calling bids for the construction within a few days.

According to him, the milk processing plant and catering industry will be set up in the investment of 70% by the State Government and remaining by local levels as per the partnership agreement for which 24 Crores and 37 Lakhs budget have been and constructional cost is likely to be reduced or increased as agreed in the tender.

The industry has targeted to make catwary by purchasing and processing 30,000 liters of milk daily from various dairy cooperative in Chitwan. The state-owned Dairy Development Board has stated that the produced catwary will be supplied to various cities.

Dr. Sharan Kumar Pandey, spokesperson of the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperative, said that the budget will be allocated for the milk processing and catering industry by purchasing and connecting varius equipment for the purchase of processing 1 Crore 8 lakhs liters of annually.

It is also stated that the Directorate of Livestock and Fisheries Development has prepared DPR of Milk processing plant and catwary Industry in Chitwan and handed it over to the State Dairy Development Board for inviting bids.
