Government must have responsibility not publicity: Vice President Pokharel
Makawanpur, Central Vice President of the ‘Federation of Nepali Journalists’ Bipul Pokharel expressed his bitterness that government and those who are in power should be responsible and accountable to the people but instead of having responsibility they have only publicity.
Addressing the 16th Annual General Assembly of the ‘Federation of Nepali journalists’ (FNJ) Makawanpur held in Hetauda Today, vice President pokharel said that Propaganda-oriented thinking has been prevailed among the ruling party.
“It is the government’s responsibility to do a good work. It is not necessary to praise the media for doing a good job. We need to aware for the good, to point out the weakness,” he said.
Similarly, he said that the government at all three levels should not be biased towards any media house in term of receiving public welfare and proportional advertisement.
“It’s the prerogative of the media to get proportional advertisements, for which the media cannot praise anyone,” he said.
He also added that the media house should always communicate truthful news to the people between the ruling party and the common citizens and this is the religion of Journalism.
He urged all parties to unite for the institutional development as the working journalists will be strong only if the FNJ is strong.
