Government stepped up the process to pardon Resham

Kathmandu: – The government has moved ahead with the process for pardoning Reshmalal Chaudhary, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by the court in the death case after the Janata Samajwadi Party filed a petition.

Chaudhary and others were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Kailali District Court in the case whereas the decision of the district court was also approved by High Court Dipayal. Chaudhary has been in custody since Phalgun-14, 2074 for investigation. According to the court’s decision, Chaudhary should be remained in jail till Phalgun-13, 2094 BS.

Earlier, Chaudhary had filed a petition in the Dipayal High Court against the district court’s order, claiming that he should be released. The high court upheld the decision of the district court in Kailali and ordered that he should not be released.

Chaudhary had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the decision of the district and high court and filed an appeal in the Supreme Court on Asar-05, claiming that the order of the district and high should be reviewed.
