Makawanpur: – A group led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Madhav Nepal is engaged in emergency discussions.

The Prachanda-Madhav faction is engaged in emergency discussions after the Supreme Court ruled on Sunday to hand over to the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Rishi Ram Kattel.

Top leaders including Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal are engaged in discussions at Singha Durbar and discussing how to move forward.

The both faction of the CPN have revived after the Supreme Court ruled on the writ petition filed by Rishi Kattel.

A bench of Justices Bam Kumar Shrestha and Kumar Regmi has ruled that the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) should not register a new party with the same name as the one already registered with the Election Commission.

The parties, headed by KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has been said that it was against the legal provisions of Article 6 (1) (e) of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Political Parties Act 2073 BS and Rule 9 of the Political Parties Rules 2074 BS and the order has been removed.

Kattel had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court alleging that he was allowed to register another party with a name similar to his own.
