State should play an inspiring role in the field of Journalism: Bista
Makawanpur: – Central General Secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Ramesh Bista has said that full freedom of press and expression should be maintained in the country.
Addressing the 12th Annual General Assembly of the Film Makawanpur Branch of the Film Journalists Association as the chief guest, General Secretary Bista expressed the view that there should be no activity from the state to hinder the freedom of press and expression.
He also appealed to the government and all political parties to ensure democracy, human rights, press and freedom of expression in the country and also suggested the state need to play an inspiring role in the field of journalism.
Similarly, Kuver Dangog, special guest and vice-president of Film Journalists Association of Nepal, said that Makawanpur is also suitable for filming, adding that local tourism should be promoted through filming.
Purushottam Subedi, central member of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, also emphasized that the state should also play an inspiring role in the field of journalism as the role of journalists is important in the transformation of the society, at the program where Secretary of the Association Shree Ram Dahal presented the annual progress report at the program. The report has been passed unanimously.
President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Makawanpur Hari Humagain, former president Ram Mani Dahal, Bhanubhakta Acharya, vice president of the federation Makawanpur Kumar Adhikari and other filmmakers and media persons were present on the occasion.
The program chaired by Maniraj Gautam, President of Film Journalists Association Makawanpur, has given a token of love to the founders and guests of the association.
