The meeting of the Congress parliamentary party is also being held today
Makawanpur: – The meeting of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party is scheduled to be held today. A meeting of the Congress parliamentary party is being held to formulate a strategy on its role in the reconstituted House of Representatives.
A meeting of the Congress parliamentary party is scheduled to be held at Lhotse Hall, Federal Parliament Building, Baneshwor on Friday at 1 p.m.
At a meeting of Nepali Congress officials on Thursday, the party is discussing three options for a political solution.
The Congress has put forward the issue of forming a government with any party of the CPN, forming a national consensus government or making Prachanda the prime minister as an alternative. It is understood that these three options will also be discussed in the meeting of the parliamentary parties.
Though Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that he will not run away from becoming the Prime Minister if the responsibility falls on his shoulders in public, he has not cast a decisive vote within the party. Some leaders, including senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel, are in favor of not joining the Congress government and accepting Prachanda as prime minister. Some leaders are emphasizing the need for a Congress-led national consensus government.
The Prachanda-Madhav faction of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has also called a meeting today.
