Street drama against rape and women violence in Hetauda (photo feature)
Makawanpur: – An awareness program has been organized in Hetauda of Makawanpur against street violence and violence against women. A street drama was presented in Hetauda on Saturday to protest against the incidents of rape and violence against women in different parts of the country.
A group of youths called ‘Swatantra Janadabab’ for justice had protested in a constructive manner demanding justice for Nirmala Pant, Samjhana Bk of Bajhang and Bhagarathi Bhatt of Baitadi who were murdered after being raped in Kanchanpur at Buddha Chowk in Hetauda. After blocking the road at Sima Chowk and Buddha Chowk in Hetauda, the youths staged a public awareness drama with placards with various slogans.
They said that the entire society should not only focus on the government to eradicate rape and sexual incidents but also move forward against such incidents.
They complain that the increase in rape cases is due to the patriarchal state system and weak law enforcement.
The youths gathered at Huprachaur in Hetauda and staged a street drama at Buddha Chowk.
