The parties should move forward together to strengthen democracy: CM Paudel
Makawanpur: –Chief Minister of Bagmati Pradesh Dormani Paudel has said that the parties have to move forward together to strengthen democracy.
Speaking at a program organized by the Bagmati State Government in Hetauda on Friday on the occasion of the 71st National Democracy Day, Chief Minister Paudel said that the ruling party had given an overwhelming majority to the party.
He also added that crisis in the parliamentary democracy was due to the vested interests of the party leaders even though the people had made drastic changes under the leadership of the political parties in the country.
He informed that the Bagmati state government has been organizing national pride projects and construction of Bhimphedi-Kulekhani tunnel in different districts of the state for the past three years and budget has been allocated for agriculture, animal husbandry and health treatment to the people.
Stating that the federal government has declared elections for a fresh mandate to strengthen democracy, Chief Minister Paudel urged all parties to abandon their own interests and create an environment conducive to participation in the elections.
