Lisbon. Portugal, a European country, has announced a nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus infections.

Prime Minister Antonio Costa announced the lockdown with effect from midnight on Thursday. In one day, 10,000 new infections were reported and 156 people died.

The school will remain open this time. Prime Minister Costa says the school is open to the children’s future. Those who break the rules of lockdown will be punished twice as much as before.
