Makawanpur. A well-equipped lab has come into operation in Hetauda with an investment of Rs 20 million. Utsav Chaulagain, managing director of the Lab, said that the Qualified Reference Laboratory (QRL), which can be used for any kind of testing, has been brought into operation from Monday. According to Chaulagain, now this is going to be the biopsy (examination done by removing a small piece of meat). This is the first lab to conduct biopsy examination in Makawanpur.

Tests in the lab that could not be performed on women’s uterine cancer, breast cancer, thyroid, vitamin D, calcium, etc., will now be tested in a qualified reference laboratory.

Director Chaulagain said that arrangements have been made for pathologists and skilled manpower to provide 24-hour service in the lab and report as soon as possible.
