ONTARIO, CANADA– Foreign Ministers from the Group of Seven (G7) nations concluded a high-stakes meeting in Canada, issuing a joint declaration that outlined broad consensus on critical global issues, including new sanctions against Russia and a firm endorsement of US President Donald Trump’s Middle East peace plan.

Hosted by Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, the gathering brought together the top diplomats from the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the European Union’s High Representative. The session also included invited guests from nations including Brazil, India, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, South Korea, South Africa, and Ukraine.

A major takeaway from the meeting was the G7’s strong endorsement of President Trump’s detailed plan aimed at achieving peace and stability in the Middle East and ending the conflict in Gaza.

The security situation in Ukraine was a significant area of focus. The foreign ministers expressed deep concern over continued Russian aggression, particularly the attacks targeting Ukraine’s energy centers.

The ministers strenuously condemned the Russian attacks and reaffirmed their commitment to the fundamental principle that international borders must not be changed by force.

The G7 members reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine’s defense of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Discussions spanned a wide range of topics, including regional security, the global economic order, and relations among member states.

Despite reports of tension with Canada over new tax policies implemented by the Trump administration, the foreign ministers publicly lent strong support to other key policies adopted by the US President.

The meeting, held under Canada’s presidency, served to coordinate efforts on pressing international challenges, moving from broad discussions to a concrete set of conclusions on both security and economic stability.
