Four Ambassadors Resign, Karki Govt. Accepts

KATHMANDU – The government has officially accepted the resignations of four high-profile ambassadors who stepped down after being recalled from their posts by the new Sushila karki’s government.

The decision to accept the resignations was confirmed by Foreign Minister Sushila Karki, who is also the head of the government formed following the ‘Gen Z’ movement. The recall and subsequent resignations mark a significant diplomatic overhaul under the new leadership.

The ambassadors chose to resign shortly after the Karki government made the decision to recall them. The resignations were tendered to Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai on various dates before being submitted for final approval.

The resignations of four diplomats have been accepted: Chandra Ghimire, the Ambassador to the United Kingdom; Lok Darshan Regmi, the Ambassador to the United States; Krishna Prasad Oli, the Ambassador to China; and Ramesh Chandra Poudel, the Ambassador to Qatar.

The Foreign Secretary presented the resignation letters to Minister Karki, who subsequently granted approval, finalizing the exit of the four top diplomats from their respective foreign missions.
