The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA)’s Chitwan district project implementation unit has reported 80.37 percent progress towards the reconstruction of private house.

At a press conference organized on the occasion of the 6th establishment day of the NRA on Sunday, the district unit office shared the information about the progress.

According to NRA engineer Sujan Nepal, 6,041 out of 7,860 beneficiaries have received the third installment amounting to Rs 100,000 after completing their houses.

Likewise, as many as 6526 beneficiaries had received the second installment of Rs 150,000 while 7,516 beneficiaries have received the first installment of Rs 50,000.

Towards retrofitting, only nine out of 1,262 beneficiaries receiving the first installment of Rs 50,000 got the second installment of Rs 50,000.

There are total 1,378 beneficiaries for retrofitting. Nepal further shared that contract has not been signed with 344 towards private housing and 196 towards retrofitting.

Recommendation has been made to remove them from the list of beneficiaries.

So far 179 schools have been constructed towards the District Project Implementation Unit during the period.

As many as 544 classrooms have been constructed in the period, shared engineer of education sector, Saroj Shrestha Likewise, 104 toilets and 51 drinking water projects have been constructed.

He informed that the earthquake had caused damages to 740 classrooms of 233 schools.

The physical progress stood 56 percent towards school building construction, stated the press release.
