Agreement with 28 local levels for distribution of Land’s paper
Makawanpur. The Land Problem Resolution commission has signed an agreement with 28 local levels in Hetauda on Thursday to start process of redistribution.
The agreement was done with 28 Local levels of Bagmati in the presence of Chief Minister Dormani Paudel. Earlier, an agreement was signed in Kathmandu with Ratnanagar Municipality of Chitwan and Bagmati Municipality of Makawanpur under Bagmati State.
Devi Prasad Gyawali, chairperson of the ‘ Land Problem Resolution Commission, said that an agreement has been reached with the local level on the basis of the first data sent about the landless, dalits, squatters and living in unmanaged area.
Among the local municipalities that have reached an agreement are Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Khairhani Municipality, Madi Municipality and Ichchakamana Village municipality of Chitwan.
Similarly, the commission has signed agreement with Hetauda Sub-metropolitan, Manahari Gaupalika, Bakaiya Gaupalika and Makawanpurgadhi Gaupalika, Kamalamari Municipality of Sindhuli, Dudhauli Municipality, Ghyanlglekh municipality, Golanjor Municipality, Haihargadhi Gaupalika, Mahalaxmi Municipality of Lalitpur and Godavari Municipality.
Similarly, agreement have been signed with Khandadevi and Sunapaiti Gaupalika of Ramechhap, Jwalamukhi and Tripura Sundari Gaupalika of Dhading, Bhotokoshi Gaupalika, Jugal Gaupalika and Melamchi Municipality of Sindhupalchowk,Roshi Gaupalika, Bethanchowk Gaupalika, Timal Gaupalika of Kavre and Tarkeshwar Gaupalika of Nuwakot.
The agreement has been signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Commission Basanta Prasad Panthi and the concerned local level chief administrative officers of behalf of the commission.
The agreement stipulates the work to be done by the commission and the local level. On the occasion, Chief Minister of Bagmati state Dormani Paudel urged the local level to give priority to give Land’s documents to squatters, unorganized, dalits and landless.
He also added that the work of distributing papers should be given priority to make the people feel comfortable.
Minister for Physical Planning Rameshwar Phuyal said that the problem would never be solved if the current two-third government did not distribute the property papers. Leader of the NC, Indra Bahadur Baniya, the opposition party of Bagmati State, stressed on the need to start the process of Land’s papers distribution honestly to give a sense of republic.
Secretary at the Ministry of Land Reform Dr. Manita Joshi Baidya presided over the signing ceremony informed that commission has signed in state No.1 and 2. Commission Chairperson Devi Prasad Gyawali informed that agreements would be signed with 186 municipalities in the first phase and urged the local level offices to work for the result within the month of Asadh.
