Now fees required to visit ‘Makawanpur Gadhi Durbar’

Makawanpur. Now it is compulsory to pay while visiting the largest and historic place of Nepal, Makawanpurgadhi Durbar. Makawanpur Gadhi Gaupalika stated that the collection of fees has been started since Mangsir-13 with the visitors who visit Makawanpur Gadhi Palace located in Wada No.2 of Makawanpurgadhi Gaupalika. Earlier, there was no charge for visiting the tourist area.

Ram Kumar Pudasaini, Chief Administrative Officer of the village municipality, informed that the municipality has started collecting fees through contract. According to him, a contract has been signed worth Rs. 13 Lakhs to collect the charges.  Pudasaini said that it has been decided to charge small amount of money from the tourists in order to keep clean, upgraded and make the Palace area tourist-friendly and clean.

Gaupalika has fixed Rs.15 for domestic tourists, Rs. 50 for foreigners and similarly for the parking lot Rs. 10 has been fixed for small vehicles and Rs. 100 for the large vehicles. So on, Rs. 1,000 has been fixed for cooked picnic and Rs. 500 for dry picnic, Rs. 3,500 for film shooting in Durbar area and Rs. 2,000 for music video shooting.

A statue of BP Koirala, Ganeshman Singh, Pushpalal, Manmohan Adhikari and Madan Bhandari has been erected on the north side of the monument.
