Wada No. 12 president of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan , Lalit Ghalan is also a working farmer. Ghalan had been doing floriculture as well as unseasonal vegetable farming.

He goes to the to his field after finishing his work in the office. He used to be busy in the farming as well as in the public services.

He used to provide the flower Garland to the different programs and seminars in the Hetauda city.

He also added that floriculture is the more beneficial and fruitful than others. He has been concentrated on the vegetable farming due to the situation of importing the vegetables from the neighbor districts for Makawanpur.

He has been doing vegetables farming in his own land of 13 Katha land. His beloved wife, Lalita also helps him in the farming. Ghalan also said that he earns about 3 lakhs per year from the vegetable farming.

Political Journey of Ghalan

Ghalan has invested his 20 years life for the changes in the nation. He started his political journey while he was only 15 years old in his student life. He was also active in the civil war led by Communist and in different movements to bring changes in the changes in the nation.

Ghalan stepped his life in politics form early student life from a middle class family.

He had started his political life while he was studying in 8^th  standard in Tribhuwan Secondary of Hetauda Nawalpur. He had concept of ‘equality’ from his early childhood. On the basis of birth, no one should be considered as ‘king’ or ‘nasty’.

He use to believe the ruler over the citizens should be elected by the citizens, for the citizens on the basis of Capacity and services.

He became vice-president of All Nepal National Free Student Union of Makawanpur after completing Bachelor degree from New Vision Multiple Dillibazar. Similarly, he also became central member of union. He collected many experiences in the field of leading and politics with the citizens and parties.

He became active in election of 2051 BS and joined politics. He became district secretary of All Nepal National free Student Union in 2060 AD.

Ghalan considered everything as illusion without persecution. ‘While being in the leading, everything can be done for citizens, if we are not in leading then we cannot do anything for the citizens’ , He informed.

” I’ve been able to do many things for the citizens only because of being in the leading role”- he said.

‘I reached in every streets observed the common people from very near, observed from the eyes of economics. Common people have been exploited, done injustice by the powerful to the weak citizens. Discrimination has been seen on the basis of Caste, Religions, Sex etc. our aim is to finish this exploitation. We had started our journey with the aim Drastic changes in the nation and we are still continuing our journey for the changes’- He said.

But changes are not possible by carrying the guns in the arms, changes are possible only with the changes in our concepts, thoughts and consciousness. The youths are unemployed in the nation. They should do agricultural revolution, and the start has been done by myself. This can be also inspiration for the youths- He said.

Ghalan’s children life

 Ghalan was born in 2039 on 14^th of Mangsir in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan Wada No. 12. He is the elder son of mother, Shanti Maya Ghalan and father, Bir Bahadur Ghalan. Among the 14 members of family , he has 4 brothers and 1 son in his family.

He has been obedient and hard working from his childhood and he was born in middle class. He wanted to be an engineer in his childhood. but because of the effect of People movements he driven himself in the politics scarifying the dream of engineer.

He became the main concern area for the people since he was honest and simple from his childhood. His daily work during his childhood was to cut the grass, feed to the animals and take care of the domestic animals. He stated he was interested in agriculture from his childhood. He finished his primary education in Buddha Primary School in Padampokhari. After that he joined Tribhuwan Secondary in Nawalpur.

Ghalan finished his SLC from Tribhuwan Secondary. He reminds-‘ his parents used to teach him by  selling the foods and domestic animals’.

Aim to win the heart by doing development

Ghalan won the common people’s heart by doing development activities. He believe that we can do development only if we have inner wish to do.

He says-” By the politics, we only cannot change the condition of politics but also we can change the management of government and conditions of the people.”

He also mention in spite of being plain land, Hetauda-12 is not so developed, we couldn’t develop this area and now it has become very back in development progress.

After electing as Wada president, he constructed slope road connecting Banaspati and Hatigaida. Now, our aim is to construct bridge from Hatigaida to Ramantar-3 Tapke.

In the area of Padampokhari, many roads have been sloped. The constructional work of bridge connecting Hetauda-11 and Hetauda-12 have been started.

He informed the re-constructional works costing 26 Crores and 41 lakhs by the Physical Infrastructure Development ministry of Bagmati state have been going on.

Similarly, Drinking water project in Jhorle Danda costing of 2 lakhs and irrigational works have been going on. Drinking water tank construction of 50 lakhs for the houses of Ghaderi Danda. Health building in Hatigainda costing of 73 lakhs and building of Buddha Secondary of 6 Crores and 18 lakhs constructional works are going on.

The construction of building in Pratima school of Padampokhari ( 4 floors), and building of Bishnu Jyoti School (4 floors) are going on in the investment of 55 lakhs.

Live Irrigation Project in Hatigaida cost of 50 lakhs, Live irrigation Scheme in Pantale costs of 70 lakhs and Deep Boring Project in Pantale have been finished.

He informed 10 lakhs subsides have been provided for the farmers of Wada No 11 for the cattle rearing. To increase the level of Consciousness of the people , different awareness programs have been started in the area, free program for preparation of Public Services, programs related to the sports, culture and social norms and values and others different programs are running.

People’s war brought drastic changes in the nation

 Ghalan, who had involved in the people war, mentioned that there had been drastic and new changes in the politics. In order to end the class struggle, caste discrimination, sex discrimination, he had joined people movement. He also said that establishment of a federal democratic system has been possible only because of people’s movement.

There had been many changes in the system of Government after the Communist people’s war but the conditions of common people have not changed and it is important to bring changes in the condition.

“If the peoples movement had not been done there hadn’t been such changes in the nation, prosperity is only possible with our joint forces”- He said.
