Makawanpur: –<\/strong> Eklal Shrestha has claimed to be the chairperson of CPN-UML Makawanpur and argues that the district committee would not remain same even though CPN has returned in its then condition.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Supreme Court has returned the CPN-UML as it was then, but the district committee will not return. The issue of who will be in the district committee will be decided through internal discussion and consensus of the party,\u201dhe told to the TuKhabar.<\/p>\n

He said that he has been given the leadership of Makawanpur because of his responsible, honest and accountable nature.<\/p>\n

Munu Sigdel was the chairman of the then CPN-UML in Makawanpur. Shouldn’t he be the chairman after the court revived the CPN-UML? To the question, Shrestha said that the tenure of the then chairman Munu Sigdel and his secretary (secretary) has ended.<\/p>\n

‘Munu and I became the secretary on Magsir-21 of 2072 BS. In our party, the term of the district committee is three years but it’s been 5 years now. Therefore, the then leadership should not be recognized,\u201dhe argued.<\/p>\n

After the end of the term, the then chairman cannot say that he is the chairman again. The party has now given me the responsibility of leading Makawanpur. He added.<\/p>\n

He said that the CPN board has been replaced by CPN-UML from the building at Pushpalal Park in Hetauda-5 after the court’s decision.<\/p>\n

He said that under his leadership, there is a plan to restructure the district committee, expand the party, and take initiative for the welfare of party members and the people of Makawanpur and for the party’s central general convention and 112 members has been expanded to 300.<\/p>\n

Shrestha said that he would welcome everyone as the party office is shared by all UML cadres, he argued that since the party had given him the responsibility of chairperson and the term of the then district committee leadership had expired, it would not be acceptable for someone else to call him chairperson.<\/p>\n

Munu Sigdel also has the right to come to the party office. We are ready to welcome, but not as president. He said.<\/p>\n
