Makawanpur<\/strong>. ‘Hetauda Mahotsav’ has been organized in Hetauda on the occasion of Maghi, the great festival of the Tharu caste. Along with the cultural program, a stall of Tharu’s dishes was set up at the third Tharu Maghi Festival.<\/p>\n

During the occassion, special dishes of Ghungi, fish, duck meat, laddu of Bhuja and other food items were kept in the stall.<\/p>\n

Tharu Vidyarthi Sabha, Tharu Yuva Sabha, Tharu Mahila Sabha and others performed Tharu, Nepali and Hindi songs, dances and comedy.<\/p>\n

It has been also informed that Certificates of appreciation were given to Tharu leaders of different districts working in Makawanpur for their contribution in the preservation and promotion of Tharu language, art and culture. The Tharu Welfare Assembly has stated that the festival has been organized for the last three years with the objective of preserving and promoting the culture and traditions of the Tharu community.<\/p>\n

Deputy Mayor of Hetauda Sub-Metropolis Meena Kumari Lama has inaugurated the program an Harilal Chaudhary, Coordinator of Maghi Festival Main Ceremony Committee and Chairperson of Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha Makawanpur, was presented as Chief Guest on the occasion.<\/p>\n
