Makawanpur: –<\/strong> After the ‘Pashupatinath Secondary School’ located in Manahari Rural Municipality Ward No. 4 of Makawanpur has started to provide lunch to the children from infant class to class 5, the children have started paying attention in reading. Students who drop out of school in the middle of school hours have also started showing interest in studying by staying in school full time.<\/p>\n

Bhanubhakta Acharya, principal of Pashupatinath Secondary said that the children started coming to school regularly after the government of Nepal provided lunch to the primary school children.<\/p>\n

Prof. Acharya said that the children have been inspired to come to school regularly and study full time after arranging lunch at the school since Poush-19.<\/p>\n

Government has been providing Rs 15 for lunch per student on the day of attendance through Village Municipality although Chairperson of the school management committee Madhav Gautam complained that there is difficulty in managing lunch due to lack of resources in School.<\/p>\n

The school has made a list of weekly meals. He said that Jaaula will be provided on Sunday, gram on Monday, vegetable on Monday, kheer on Wednesday, again Jaulo on Thursday and boiled egg on Friday.<\/p>\n

Ward Chairman of Manhari Village Municipality, Ward No. 4, Dhruva Khadka said that the children stopped eating junk food after lunch was provided at the school.<\/p>\n

Khadka said that all the schools in his ward have been instructed to ban junk food in the vicinity of the school.<\/p>\n

Out of the total 10,000 students in Manahari village municipality, about 4,000 children studying at primary level have benefited from lunch, said village chairman Ekraj Upreti. There are 32 community schools in the village municipality.<\/p>\n
