Makawanpur: –<\/strong> Most of the crusher industries and sand processing industries operating within the Makawanpur district under Bagmati Province are found to be against the current standards. According to the District Administrative Office, most industries are against the current norm set by the government even though they were under criteria during their establishment where as 32 Crushers and 70 sand processing industries are supposed to be running over the entire district.<\/p>\n

Chief District Officer Govinda Rijal informed that even though all the industries are registered with one body or the other, they are not within the current criteria. He added that some sand industries will be collapsed because they are found to be working in crushing field for which they have not been granted permission.<\/p>\n

According to the Office, 11 crusher industries and 14 sand processing industries have not been renewed within the stipulated time. Similarly, 8 crushers industries and 18 sand industries have not paid taxes for the last fiscal year 076\/077.<\/p>\n

No any crusher industries are found to be under ‘Riverine Materials Collection and Utilization Procedures’ Passed by the state government on Ashoj-30 of 2075 BS. It’s mentioned in the procedure that in order to operate crusher industry and sand plant, it should be at a distance of more than 300 meters from the river bank, 100 meters from the high tension line, 300 meters from the highway, one KM away from educational institutions, health institutions, religious places and security agencies.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the distance should be more than 2 KM from the National park and Wildlife Sanctuary, more than 2 KM from the densely populated area, more than 1 KM from the forest area and more than 500 meters from the concrete bridge. All the sand plants industries and crushers industries operating in Makawanpur have been found to be against the standards.<\/p>\n
