Makawanpur: –<\/strong> Bagmati State Police Office, Hetauda, has taken steps to discourage all the illicit drug-related activities overall the province. The Police have carried out various targets to destroy and ban the cannabis cultivation and control the smuggling of drugs. According to Bagmati State Police Chief and Deputy Inspector General of Police, Basant Kumar Lama, the work has been done in the field of controlling of drugs and cannabis in different districts.<\/p>\n

It has been targeted to control all these illegal activities. Since, Makawanpur, Chitwan, Sindhuli, Dhading and other districts of the state are the center of illegal cannabis cultivation and their main route for smuggling the Hashish is Dhading, Chitwan and Makawanpur on the East-West Highway.<\/p>\n

According to the Office, cannabis cultivated in 371 Bighas, 56 Kathas and 27 Dhur of land has been destroyed on different dates so far, said Mira Chaudhary, Senior Superintendent of Police, State Police Office, Hetauda and to make this campaign 428 police personnel were deployed in different districts.<\/p>\n

It is informed that Only in Makawanpur, cannabis cultivated in 235 Bighas, 5 Kathas and 5 Dhur have been destroyed within Poush, while in Chitwan 50 Bighas, in Sindhuli 63 Bighas 25 Kathas 10 Dhur and in Dhading 21 Bighas and eight Katha have been destroyed.<\/p>\n

She said that 223 Bighas of cannabis cultivation was crackdown in ward 8 and 9 under Raksirang Rural Municipality of Makawanpur from Mangsir-21 to 23.<\/p>\n

Under this campaign, 96 Kg of cannabis and 50 Kg of ‘Chares’ have been seized during the operation in Mangsir. Similarly, 75 ampoules of Diazepam, 72 ampoules of Nurfin, 1,200 tablets of Nitrovet and 45 tablest of Nitrezepam have been seized.<\/p>\n

20 Drug smugglers have been also arrested in the month of Mangsir and four fugitives are being searched. Senior Superintendent of Police Chaudhary informed that six vehicles involved in the drug trafficking were also taken under control.<\/p>\n

As the work of eradicating cannabis and opium cultivation illegally planted in different districts of the state has not been completed yet, the campaign to eradicate illegal cultivation of drugs is being continued in Poush.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
