Makawanpur: –<\/strong> The Bagmati State government has constructed 1,339 Kilometers of roads in the last two years. According to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, various bodies under the ministry have constructed 807 km of normal roads and 155 Km of pitch roads have been finished.<\/p>\n

Similarly, 320 km of gravel and 24 km of sloping roads have been constructed, according to the Ministry. Various 33 bridges have been completed during that period. Minister Rameshwar Phuyal informed that 55 bridges will be completed by mid- Ashar.<\/p>\n

According to him, the other 45 bridges have reached the final stage of construction. Minister Phuyal said that the ‘One House and One Tap’ program has been taken forward at all local levels of the state, emphasis has been laid on irrigation to increase agricultural production and reconstruction of 24 historical places, stones fountain, dug wells and lakes have been taken forward.<\/p>\n

In other hand the evaluation of 12 proposals received through international bids to select a consultant for the construction of the tunnel connecting the state capital and the federal capital Kathmandu are in its final stage of study and preparations are being made to invite bids for the construction of tunnel.<\/p>\n

Phuyal also added that foundation of the Sindhulimadi-Bhumesthan-Chakamak-Kotari road has been laid. Construction of 1,456 km long road section will be completed at a cost of Rs 34 Crores and 41 Lakhs. He said that the bids have been approved for the completion of the road by Asar 2079 BS.<\/p>\n
