The only government hospital in Makawanpur, Hetauda Hospital, has started providing additional services. The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit(HDU) have been brought into operation in the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Hari Khadka, director of Madan Bhandari Health Distribution Foundation, said that treatment has been started in both the wards within a few days of the inauguration. He also added that 2 people are being treated in 7 Wards of ICU whereas 6 people are in treatment in 10 wards of HDU today.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital has given priority to those who cannot afford the ICU and HDU of a private hospital. The work has been started by establishing a fund for the treatment of the poor. Dr. Khadka is going to deposit Rs. 81,000 in the fund including his one month salary and other facilities. Similarly, Hospital Development Committee Chairman Prakash Paudel will deposit Rs. 50,000 and Hospital employee Hira Lama will deposit Rs. 25,000 equal to his salary. Four ventilators have also been brought into operation in the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Patients who used to be referred to Private hospitals in Hetauda and Bharatpur due to lack of ICU will now be treated at Hetauda Hospital. Registrar of Madan Bhandari Health Foundation Rajesh Prasai said that after operation of ICu and HDU, Pediatrics and Pathology services will be provided in the near future. The hospital has stated that it costs Rs. 1,500 per day of HDU, Rs.4,000 for ICU with ventilator and Rs. 2,000 for ICU without ventilator.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Makawanpur.
